Lincoln is a big cat originally from the mean streets of Chicago now living in the idyllic burbs of Iowa. He blogs about life in general - focusing on the little ankle biters who generally leave him alone and don't pull his tail or whiskers.
There's no better way to end the month of July than with a visit from the Kelly cousins! We had a trip to the zoo on Monday and a trip to Adventureland on Tuesday.
Today we kicked back with ice old root beer floats on the deck!
Close-up...
And let's not forget the two wee ones! Mom took a few pics with them last week on her Mac. So grateful and lucky to have these healthy, happy kids!
It was hot, so we tried baking cookies in the car. Alex is enjoying the finished product (which wasn't too bad, they were cooked pretty well, if a bit gooey).
First, we put the dough out...
Placed them in the car on the front windshield...
After an hour...
After two and a half hours!
On Wednesday, we had some fun with a frame mat that I had.
Photobombed!
Portrait of an Alex
Tuesday evening it was an impromptu socccer game in the backyard!
Alex shows the steps, first trace your hand with a pencil. Take a Sharpie and draw straight lines that then curve around your hand/fingers. Then color.
We did the egg drop experiment to demonstrate Newton's Law of Inertia, and um yeah, it took us two tries to get it to work. I don't have any video of our demonstration, but I do have a photo of the egg in the glass after our successful attempt. I should have shown the counter after the first failed one.
We've had intermittent internet access here the past few days due to the basement remodeling going on in addition to the holiday, so I haven't been able to update the blog as much as I'd like to. This evening, we did something I have been wanting to do a long time...the Mentos Diet Coke Geyser Trick! It was easy and fun and no one lost a finger!
Miss Saucy and her pigtails!
The formerly fat 30 pound cat is taking a self nap...
And this amazing little guy is now three months old! How did this happen? How is he already a quarter of a year old? NO WAY! He is sitting up in the Bumbo chair, can hold his head up pretty well, likes to sit and watch the people around him, coos and "talks", laughes and smiles. Started drooling which makes me think he will get his first teeth at four months like his brother and sister did. Happy, happy, little fellow. Such a joy to have in our lives!
