Lincoln is a big cat originally from the mean streets of Chicago now living in the idyllic burbs of Iowa. He blogs about life in general - focusing on the little ankle biters who generally leave him alone and don't pull his tail or whiskers.
I took some photos of Alex today before we got the five or six rain showers that passed through. He was a ball of energy, and kept running around, so many of the photos were blurred.
Here's a video of him talking about his Bob the Builder toys which he loves so much. He also graces us with a little dance.
Another video from a few days ago doing his toddler talk...
And in honor of the Cubs/Cardinals rivalry, this video from the week before (and I swear on Harry Caray's specs that I did not teach him this nor encourage it)...
Arsenio Hall used to do a bit on his show way, way back in the late eighties/early nineties called "Things that make you go hmm..." (according to Wikipedia, the C+C Music Factory song was inspired by this...and I thought it was the other way around!)
Here's one to ponder. It's been bugging me for some time now. Trader Joe's has these cookies (and they're awesome) called "Cats Cookies". Here is a tub of them, so you can see what they look like. Even closer - here is an actual cookie so you can see what it looks like. Note the feline shape, hence the name "Cats Cookies". Obviously at one point in time, someone must have tried to feed them to a cat. That's the only explanation for the small print below: CATS COOKIES..............For People.
Whaa? Why? Why do they have to put that small disclaimer on there? Hmm...
It kind of reminds me of this hilarious, yet somewhat disturbing SNL commercial from a few years back:
Last Friday, we traveled down to St. Mary's and went to Immaculate Conception's fish fry dinner. The cost was $7 an adult, $4 for kids, $20 limit for families. Everything was made from scratch by parishioners and was delicious! The fried fish was probably the best we have had so far. The dinner included cole slaw, mac and cheese, and onion rings.
Bonus point: they had a raffle for half a hog (so two halves were raffled). We bought a few tickets and would have loved to have had a pig roast in Truro if we would have won!
The verdict? Four BCs for almighty awesomeness!
This Friday, we go to our home parish of St. Francis of Assisi in West Des Moines for our final stop on the '09 tour!
